Oporto (Sydney, Melbourne)

We’ve had Oportos in NSW and Victoria. We’ve generally had good experiences ordering the chicken and chips (with no sauces on the chicken or salt on the chips, although we started ordering the chilli sauce as our kids got older and could tolerate the spiciness). Oportos is widely available in Sydney so the chicken chips are a good option for gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, nut-free, sesame-free diets.

Oportos has been such a good option for us due to it being widely available; it’s really been our main go-to (in terms of takeaway food) for a few years now!

I should note that we’ve only had one bad experience - when we ordered a side of corn in Victoria on the drive from Tullamarine airport to Sorrento, my eldest had a reaction that required a couple of doses of antihistamine (his tummy was sore, and he threw up, and he had that sense of doom on his face that allergic children get when they’ve had something they are allergic to). So now we steer clear of the corn (as it is cooked on the grill with presumably a bunch of other ingredients so a higher chance of contamination), and just stick to the chicken and chips.
